In celebration of both International Museum Day on May 18 and the 10-year anniversary of the A. G. Leventis Gallery, we chose a unique guest for this May’s Wednesday Lecture.

Comedian Katerina Vrana, with her characteristically special and humorous approach, will offer us a presentation/ stand-up comedy entitled ‘Fitting In’. She will speak about the importance of having access to art, examining this issue from both a cultural and a disability perspective. Who has access to art from the audience's point of view, but also from the artist's point of view?

Katerina Vrana is a Greek stand-up comedian who performs all over the world. CNN included her in the ‘Female Comedians to Watch’ list, while in 2016 she won third place in the Laugh Factory's international ‘Funniest Person in the World’ competition. In April 2017, while on tour in Malaysia, Katerina became seriously ill, which left her with my physical injuries. She managed to return to the stage in 2019 with the performance ‘Staying Alive (Almost Dead)’. She now splits her time between performing and rehab, as she still struggles with her vision, movement and speech.

Her hearing and hair remain intact!
