He studied fine arts and architecture in Italy and England. As of 1955, he settled in London, where he worked as an artist. He has designed and constructed many buildings around the world.

His early works were inspired by the landscape and the daily life of the people of Cyprus. Around 1954, he relinquished representational art and slowly gravitated towards complete abstraction. From the beginning of the 1960s, he devoted himself to the creation of relief geometric and rhythmic constructions.

He first exhibited his work in Cyprus in 1955. Thereafter, he showed work in over 40 solo exhibitions in Britain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Greece. He also took part in numerous group shows. In 1976 he represented Greece at the Venice Biennale. In 1971 he was awarded the Europe Prize for Painting in Ostend, Belgium, for his painting oeuvre. He has been represented by the London-based gallery Annely Juda Fine Art since 1963.
