‘RESILIENCE: Art and Mental Health’
An exhibition celebrating the strength of the human spirit through art
Τhe A. G. Leventis Gallery, the Association for the Protection of Mental Health (Nicosia), and the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY) are delighted to present ‘RESILIENCE: Art and Mental Health’, an exhibition showcasing artworks created by members of the Vocational Rehabilitation Units of the OKYPY Mental Health Services Directorate. The exhibition, which highlights the power of creative expression, resilience and social inclusion, will be opened by the Honorary President of the Association for the Protection of Mental Health, Mrs Fotini Papadopoulou, on Thursday, 17 September 2026, at 19:00, at the A. G. Leventis Gallery.
‘RESILIENCE: Art and Mental Health’
features artworks created by members of the Vocational Rehabilitation Units (VREs) in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos. Through painting and artistic expression, the participating artists share their personal experiences, demonstrating the power of art to foster communication, encourage acceptance and promote meaningful social inclusion.
The three co-organisers note that the aim of the exhibition is to celebrate human resilience and the transformative power of creativity, underline that when people experiencing mental health challenges are given the necessary opportunities and support, they can create, inspire and participate fully in society. By hosting the exhibition, the A. G. Leventis Gallery reaffirms its longstanding commitment to promoting culture with a positive social impact, encouraging inclusion, dialogue and equal participation in cultural life.
The public is warmly invited to visit the exhibition and discover works that tell stories of strength, hope and creativity, conveying an optimistic message in support of a society free from exclusion and prejudice.
The artworks will be available for purchase, with all proceeds supporting the work of the Association for the Protection of Mental Health (Nicosia).
